Network Climate and Biodiversity

Scientists and societal partners from Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam have joined together in a new network around Climate and Biodiversity, where the interaction between the two themes will be highlighted. Over the past year, our network is expanding within but also outside of the universities, throughout the Netherlands. Currently our network consists of +280 members! Do you want to become part it?

Why join our network?

  • You will be invited to our activities and have access to our growing transdisciplinary network of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities researchers and societal partners.
  • You will stay up to date on relevant events, grants, our Seed Funds and project updates from our network through a regular news e-mail.
  • You have a point of contact to put all your questions related to the biodiversity-climate nexus, if you are a knowledge institute, government agency, non-profit organisation, entrepreneur, researcher, student, citizen or anyone else.
  • You can share your knowledge or use other (organizations) knowledge for a guest lecture, for verification of knowledge or become a knowledge partner for our LDE Thesis Labs, for example: Thesis Lab 25/26 Generation Regeneration.
  • You have a place to put and discuss your bold research questions or ideas, or find collaborators when there is an interdisciplinary call affiliated to the biodiversity-climate nexus.
  • You have a point of contact for (outdoor) locations and living labs for place-based learning, such as the Green Village (Delft), Hortus Botanicus (TU Delft and Leiden), the Polderlab (Oud Ade), The Field (Leiden) and Buitenplaats Brienenoord (Rotterdam),

Through our activities, we are expanding our network of knowledge partners so that we can increasingly fulfil the role of knowledge director. Also, we work in close collaboration with the LDE Centre for Sustainability.

Upcoming

  • A Follow up meeting on September 29th 2026 at The Green Village in Delft, for the first round of Seed Projects that started in 2025.
