Call for Applications: Seed Fund Climate & Biodiversity Research and Education

We are pleased to announce that the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Program Climate & Biodiversity is launching a new Seed Fund (maximum of €15,000 per project). The submission deadline is 15 December 2025. Please feel free to share this call within your network!

The goal of the Seed Fund is to catalyze practice-oriented research and education addressing challenges at the intersection of climate change and biodiversity loss — fostering cross-university (and beyond) collaboration towards a more livable planet.

We encourage consortia including at least two LDE-partners to apply and encourage involvement of societal partners and early-career researchers. Proposals can focus on building networks, organizing workshops, conducting a pilot study, setting-up joint research, or education activities, expanding existing projects towards climate or biodiversity, or preparation for larger research grant applications.

You can find more information, guidelines, and previously funded projects on our website.
