In the run-up to the elections, Leiden University, Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam are organising an election debate on 9 October.

In the coming decades, the Netherlands will face major social challenges, from climate change to ageing, AI and security issues. How can we shape transitions in a social, sustainable and fair way, and what role can students play? Are you curious to hear how politicians respond to these challenges? Come along and see how politicians debate these issues under the watchful eye of students and experts.

Themes

  1. Care and Innovation – a fair, efficient and economically responsible healthcare system for the future
  2. Resilience – a resilient society now and in the future
  3. AI and Technological developments – the impact on our economy, labour market and security

Scientists from the three universities will give an introduction to each theme. Candidates from political parties will then engage in debate. Students will play an active role by asking questions and participating in the discussion.
