Abstract:

Cities need to continuously improve and adapt. Sustainability is becoming a more and more important condition for the economic performance. Urban development is no longer the exclusive domain of stakeholders as real estate developers, housing associations and city administrations. Actors as energy providers, water boards and waste management companies and citizens are also shaping the conditions for a city’s wellbeing. With the research and teaching carried out with her chair of Urban Development Management, Ellen van Bueren aims to understand and develop ways of how stakeholders involved in urban development – public and private, bottom-up and professionally organized – manage to create and support a sustainable urban environment.

Venue: Aula TU Delft (Auditorium, 3rd floor), Mekelweg 5, Delft
