On the 24 - 25th of September, the dilemmas of doing diversity conference will take place at Poortgebouw Zuid in Leiden. This conference is part of the NWA project dilemmas of doing diversity, DIDI for short. In this project 37 societal partners work together under the leadership of Marlou Schrover. LDE researchers dr. Rogier van Reekum, dr. Lieke van der Veer and Suzan Abozyid will be some of the researchers that are presenting their research at this conference.

The 'Dilemmas of doing diversity (DIDI)' project looks at one of the most complex and interesting social challenges of today: how to establish and sustain a society that is cohesive and inclusive. This project explores the intersections of categories of identity and power, such as class, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, age, health and (dis)ability. The term 'doing diversity' refers to practices as well as politics and policies. The DIDI project is a collaboration of various universities and universities of applied sciences.
At the conference, topics such as policies and practices in housing, health care, alliances, and sport will be discussed. Each panel consists of three or four presentations. There is time for debate and participation from the audience. The six panels are followed by a closing comment from the principal investigator Marlou Schrover.
