New funding for Healthy Society scale-up projects

The Healthy Society Programme makes funding available for the upscaling of proven effective health innovations. €50,000 can be requested per consortium to deploy health solutions more widely and scale up in Zuid-Holland.

This was announced on Thursday 13 November during the Common Sense Festival of the Province of South Holland. Registration for the subsidy scheme is open immediately until 15 December 2025.

Deploying successful projects more widely

A successful project to get children more active, an initiative that breaks through loneliness among the elderly or a care innovation that makes home treatment a lot easier: every municipality or health institution has successful innovation projects that demonstrably improve people's well-being and health.

"From the Healthy Society Program, we do not want to limit these innovations to one or a few municipalities or institutions, but accelerate their wider deployment. The province of South Holland is making a subsidy available for this," says Prof. Marieke Adriaanse, strategic representative of the Healthy Society Programme. "This prevents municipalities and health institutions from reinventing the wheel themselves and promotes the sharing of successful health innovations, so that more people can benefit quickly."

Project consortia consisting of a company, a knowledge institution and a care, welfare or policy organisation can jointly apply for a scale-up grant from the Healthy Society Programme via this link.

Improving health and reducing health inequalities

The Healthy Society Programme is a collaboration between Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities, Medical Delta and the Province of South Holland. The programme focuses on improving health and well-being among all layers of the population in Zuid-Holland and reducing health inequalities.

For example, the Healthy Society Programme is involved in the Delta Action Agenda, an initiative of the Province of South Holland and Medical Delta. The Delta Action Agenda brings together existing initiatives, programmes and social, health, policy and knowledge parties to join forces.

The subsidy scheme of the Healthy Society Programme puts its money where its mouth is by accelerating and strengthening the challenge of making the people of South Holland healthier.

A healthier Zuid-Holland

The subsidy scheme of the Healthy Society Programme was announced during the Gezond Verstand Festival, a meeting of the Province of Zuid-Holland and with the cooperation of Medical Delta.

During this festival, the renewed website gezondzuidholland.nl <link> was also launched. On this website you can find practical cases, useful tools, advice and inspiration stories for policymakers, innovators, scientists and healthcare workers. The subsidy scheme of the Healthy Society Programme is in line with this, which sets up a broader framework for a healthier Zuid-Holland.

Conditions for subsidy

To be eligible, consortia must consist of at least:

  • a company, institution, foundation or municipality that has a validated technological, social and/or process innovation and wants to scale it up;
  • a knowledge institution that investigates the factors for upscaling or measures the results or effects of the upscaling;
  • a care, welfare or policy organization that will use the intervention.

The deadline for submitting a project idea is 15 December 2025, 09.00 hrs.
