Marieke Adriaanse new strategic representative of Healthy Society Programme

Prof. Marieke Adriaanse, Professor of Behavioural Interventions in Population Health Management at Leiden University and the LUMC, has been appointed strategic representative of the Healthy Society Programme, a collaboration between Medical Delta and Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities.

Adriaanse works at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Leiden University and the LUMC, where she focuses on behavioural interventions in public health.

Within the interdisciplinary Health Campus The Hague, Adriaanse is researching how residents and patients can be supported in developing healthier habits. In doing so, she looks at how behavioural interventions can help healthcare professionals to improve their practice.

Prevention and health inequalities

Adriaanse pays particular attention to the themes of health inequalities, prevention and sustainable change.

With her role within the Healthy Society Programme, she is committed to a proactive approach in which health and healthy behaviour are central and carries the shared vision of prof.dr. Andrea Evers continues.

As a Recognition and Rewards ambassador and advocate of Open Science, Adriaanse is committed to valuing transdisciplinary collaboration and societal impact.


Healthy Society Program

The Healthy Society programme is a collaboration between Medical Delta, Leiden-stella Delft-Erasmus Universities and the Province of South Holland. Stella Pfisterer, programme manager at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Leiden University, is responsible for the implementation of this programme.
