Healthy Society Program Adds Sixth Scaling-Up Project to Its List of Grant Recipients

After completion of the selection procedure, a sixth project was added to the awarded upscaling projects: Vital and resilient neighbourhoods through upscaling Vitality Clubs with district nurses in South Holland. This means that a total of six projects will receive funding from the Healthy Society Programme to further scale up proven health interventions in Zuid-Holland.

1. From success to follow-up: Structural deployment of key figures for a large reach.

Scaling up the group consultation - in which local residents work on their health together with healthcare professionals - to more neighbourhoods in The Hague, by training local residents as supervisors and keeping better track of the results.

In collaboration with Health Campus The Hague, Health for Everyone, community center Stichting de Mussen, REOS, GGD Haaglanden, Hadoks, the Municipality of The Hague

2. Scaling up StartKracht: recovery-oriented use of waiting times in youth mental health care

StartKracht is used for young people who are waiting for help from youth mental health care. Instead of passively waiting, they get a conversation early on that helps them to get started with their situation themselves.

In collaboration with GGZ Delfland, Leiden University

3. Vertically Scaling Up Blood Pressure Challenge to Combined Lifestyle Intervention (GLI), with Long-Term Evidence

The Blood Pressure Challenge has been shown to work well in the short term, but in order to scale up the program nationwide through the official health system, we need proof that it also works in the long term. That evidence is collected within this project.

4. New Lunch Culture

Making lunch at work healthier. Not by telling employees what to eat, but by improving the canteen itself - with more vegetables and a pleasant atmosphere. With extra attention to sectors with heavy work, such as the port and logistics.

In collaboration with Greenport West-Holland, GroentenFruit Huis and the Province of Zuid-Holland, The Hague University of Applied Sciences

5. Remote support, guidance and care, Close to everyone: digital image care

Care institution Pieter van Foreest is going to expand video care - in which remote care is offered via screen - to two new components: day care for people with memory or physical problems, and rehabilitation at home after hospitalization. In this way, clients can be helped more often from their own familiar environment.

6. Vital and resilient neighbourhoods by scaling up Vitality Clubs with district nurses in South Holland

The Vitality Club is a proven effective neighborhood initiative in which people over 55 exercise together outside in their own neighborhood several times a week. Within this project, 20 new Vitality Clubs will be set up in South Holland by further strengthening the collaboration with Buurtzorg. District nurses receive training and guidance to enthuse residents, stimulate local cooperation and gradually transition the clubs to full self-organization by participants themselves.
