Funding available for heritage research and knowledge dissemination

The Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for Global Heritage and Development attaches great importance to research into and dissemination of heritage research in the broadest sense of the word - at local, regional and national level.

To contribute to this, the centre uses various financial instruments to stimulate cooperation, knowledge exchange and the further development and dissemination of heritage research. This spring, project funding will be available for collaborating researchers from Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Seed Money

Affiliated researchers can submit one application per year for the use of seed money (€1,500). Seed money can be requested for setting up a small pilot study, disseminating research results from a previous project, public engagement activities, creating a prototype, 3D scan and/or print,

In addition, applications can also be submitted for a larger research project (€9,000).

Conditions: at least one researcher per university must be involved as a (co-)applicant in the application. The project proposal must clearly respect the interfaces with the broader objectives of the Global Heritage and Development Program.

  • Feasibility of the project plan;
  • Innovative (research) potential of the project plan;
  • Collaboration with social partners/social relevance;
  • Sustainability of the project after the project duration
