About LDE Thesis Labs:
LDE Thesis Labs is a master course at Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities. It is a tailor-made program. In 2027, we have room for 10 Thesis Labs. In each Lab we tackle a societal or transition challenge provided by one or multiple societal organizations. We select 12-15 master students from different disciplines per lab. The students work on an individual thesis project related to the societal challenge, as part of their regular study program. Together, the students follow a program of 12 sessions, led by an academic coordinator. The students dive into the ‘system’ of the challenge and create an interdisciplinary result on top of their own individual research. The program includes:
- ‘Open’ sessions for students, case holders and network partners: guest lectures, excursions and round table related to the challenge. A final network event to share the individual and interdisciplinary results of the students.
- ‘Only students’ sessions focusing on systems thinking skills.
