During this event, Prof. Marlou Schrover will give a presentation on ‘Dilemmas of Diversity – Diversity Policy and Practice’, the theme of the new LDE White Paper. In addition, the day’s programme will offer new insights and fresh ideas, as well as opportunities to meet colleagues from across the country who work on policy, implementation, strategy or governance within local authorities.

During the Kennisdag, participants can choose from a diverse programme with in-depth masterclasses, interactive sessions, and short talks on current issues facing municipalities. The event offers ample opportunities to gain new knowledge, exchange practical experiences, and engage with experts and peers on solutions to today's societal challenges. As part of the Kennis Theater section, Prof. Marlou Schrover will give a presentation on ‘Dilemmas of Diversity’. This will take place from 15:45 to 16:15.

Prof. dr. Marlou Schrover is Professor Emeritus of Economic and Social History, with a particular interest in migration and diversity, and the relationship between the media and policy. She is also the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and leads the NWA project Dilemma’s of Doing Diversity. This spring, she and her team compiled the insights gained from years of research into diversity policy and approaches in various municipalities across the Netherlands. These have now been brought together in a publication which participants can take away with them after this lecture.
