The International Centre for Frugal Innovation of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities celebrates its 10th anniversary with the (closed) meeting '10 Years ICFI: The Power of a Frugal Mindset'.
The centre researches frugal innovation: low-cost, local, sustainable solutions usually resulting from initiative by the population itself.
The centre is based at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague and represents a global network. It collaborates with researchers connected to universities in Kenya and India and, from these hubs, also with local governments.
The centre also coordinates the annual Leiden-Delft-Erasmus minor Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Development where students and teachers from the three universities study topics such as anthropology, culture, economic development and technical innovation.
During this festive event, the centre will present the new handbook on frugal innovation on which an international group of scholars collaborated.
