On Thursday March 3 from 16:00 until 17:00, the EUR Sustainability Program, LDE Centre for Sustainability Students and DIT platform will host the second Let’s Talk Sustainability event. We will talk about Mobility and we would like to invite you to join the conversation, to express your opinion and be critical on the topic of discussion.

We will talk about the new travel policy of the EUR and how students can contribute in making the university more sustainable by adapting their travel habits.
According to our carbon footprint, commuting and business travel are responsible for more than 70% of the emissions. Mobility is therefore an urgent issue to tackle and we need students and employees to join.

Speakers

Dr. Giuliano Mingardo, Senior researcher of Urban and Transport Economics at ESE, and one of the promoters of the new policy, will moderate the discussion. Here are our speakers:

·         Dr. Thea Hilhorst, Professor of Humanitarian Studies at ISS. In 2019 she published an open letter calling universities to take action to limit flights and create more sustainable policy

·         Hugo Houppermans, Director of Coalitie Anders Reizen. Anders Reizen is a Dutch coalition that helps big corporations to develop more sustainable policies for business travels

·         Esther Salem, MSc student Global Business and Sustainability. She wrote her bachelor thesis on sustainable mobility and will add her student perspective to the discussion
