Do you work in the higher education sector? And are you involved with (online) communication? Then be sure not to miss the Online Media in Higher Education congress! This year’s theme is: ‘Understanding our on/offline community'. The annual congress is organised by Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam. This will be the sixth edition of the congress.

At OMHE 2018 we delve into both new and already existing opportunities to really connect with our higher education community. Online and offline communication are no longer two separate worlds. To maintain a personal, engaging and consistent conversation with users across all these digital platforms, we need to understand how our community uses these tools in both their online and offline everyday life. Topics such as augmented and virtual reality, social gaming, the use of digital data and the introduction of artificially intelligent chatbots are only a few of the new opportunities of our digitizing work field.

We will explore (social) online media from the perspective of the people that use these digital tools within an educational environment. How do we line up the available and new technology with the various needs and expectations of our community of (potential) students and researchers all over the world? Experts from commercial businesses will share their insights in how they engage with their client community and we will hear about which latest trends to watch.

OMHE 2018 aims to connect and enrich communication professionals within higher education who want to learn more about effective ways of online communication and the offline results of these innovations and vice versa.
